Physical activity is important for children of all ages, adults, and seniors. Being active as a family has benefits for everyone. Follow these tips to find ways to keep your family active during your family’s busy schedule:
Use What is Available
Plan activities that require little or no equipment or facilities. You and your family can enjoy walking, jogging, jumping rope, playing tag, and dancing. Find out what programs your community recreation center offers for free or minimal charge.
Limit Screen Time
Limit the amount of time you and your family spend each day playing video games, watching TV, and using the computer (less than 2 hours per day). Instead of a TV show, play an active family game, dance to your favorite music, or go for a walk.
